High-Power Focusing Objective Lenses (UV) / HPOBL-5-UV

An air gap type objective lens with a parfocal distance of 45mm that does not use adhesive to bond the lenses. They use synthetic fused silica, which has high transmittance in the UV range, and CaF2 material for UV for lenses. They can be used for focusing and collimating high power lasers.

  • Spherical aberration and coma are sufficiently corrected for UV to near-ultraviolet monochromatic light, and collimated laser light with a beam diameter of 70% of the pupil diameter can be focused to the spot diameter up to the diffraction limit.
  • An AR coating that is highly resistant to laser damage and is suitable for the UV range of 250 to 280nm is applied. The axial chromatic aberration is reduced in the UV to near-ultraviolet range, and it can be used with multi-wavelength lasers by changing the coating specifications. In addition, since it transmits to some extent even at 632.8nm, a He-Ne guiding laser can be used.
  • To take advantage of the excellent focusing performance obtained on the optical axis, it is recommended that the object side be moved.
  • To protect the lens from laser-processed splashes, a replaceable protective glass is an option for the 10x objective lens. (The 20x objective lens originally has a protective glass attached to the product.)

Guide
  • A lens holder for objective lens fixation LHO-20.32, and an objective lens adapter (TAT-18OA) that can be used to fix the objective lens on the two-axis optics holder (TAT) are available.
  • For request for a microscope for UV laser processing, please contact our Sales Division.
Attention
  • When used with a high-power laser or near a light source that produces heat, the focal length has possibility to change due to the high temperature of the lens.
  • If the incident beam diameter is too thin, the spot diameter will not be focused enough.
